Tattoo Career

Will having a tattoo on my forearm be difficult for a future career in internal medicine?

Unfortunately, you kind of have to plan for the lowest common denominator. Personally I’d be fine with it, and if you can swing almost always wearing long sleeves maybe it wouldn’t be a problem.

But, I sadly wouldn’t count on it. I do know emergency room nurses and doctors who have less conspicuous tattoos and piercings, but that’s another environment entirely. Body mods act as a good distraction in those places, and in a place as liberal as my west coast town it works out well.
